The Artist
Mika Mayfield is a digital illustrator working to make every client's dream come true. Her paintings live somewhere between fairytale and psalm: a girl on a rooftop watching the northern lights, a woman crowned in sun surrounded by dragons, a beloved dog with paper-cutout wings.
She grew up in a house where storytelling was the primary language and the drawing pad was rarely put away. She paints characters most, and the light around them second. If you look closely at any of her fairytale work, there is almost always a small stubborn plant, a lantern, or a paper boat — the things people carry when they are on the way somewhere.
Mika takes on a small number of commissions per season — pet memorials, portrait work, and original narrative pieces — alongside archival prints from her existing catalogue. She works closely with each client from sketch through final delivery, and every commission is signed and titled by hand.
