Studio policies
Last updated · July 2026
All sales are final. Deposits, balances, print purchases, and commission fees are non-refundable once work has begun or payment has cleared. By submitting an inquiry, remitting a deposit, or purchasing a piece, you agree to the policies below.
Submitting the inquiry form or emailing the studio is a request, not a purchase. It does not reserve a piece, book a commission slot, or create any obligation on Mika's part. All availability, pricing, and scheduling are confirmed only after Mika responds in writing and a deposit has been received.
Every piece shown in the gallery is subject to prior sale, prior commitment, or artist withdrawal. Mika reserves the right to decline any inquiry for any reason.
Every commission is governed by a short written agreement covering scope, subject, size, timeline estimate, deliverables, and usage rights. Work does not begin until (a) the written agreement is accepted by both parties and (b) the 50% deposit has cleared.
The client is responsible for providing accurate reference material, timely feedback, and any specific requirements before work begins. Delays in client feedback may extend the timeline; the studio is not responsible for schedule slips caused by delayed responses.
Each commission includes up to two revision rounds:
Additional revisions are quoted separately. Requests to fundamentally change the concept, subject, or scope after the sketch is approved may require a new agreement and additional deposit. Revisions after final delivery are treated as a new commission.
All timelines shared — whether verbal, in email, or in the written agreement — are estimates, not guarantees. Illness, personal circumstances, technical issues, or shipping delays can affect delivery dates. Mika will communicate any material changes as soon as she is aware of them.
The studio is not liable for consequential losses arising from a delayed or missed delivery date (for example, if a commissioned piece was intended for a specific event).
All sales are final. No refunds are offered. This applies to:
If a client cancels a commission after the deposit has been received, the deposit is forfeited. If Mika is unable to complete a commission for reasons within her control, she will work with the client on a fair resolution — which may include a partial credit toward a different piece or a print of comparable value, at Mika's discretion — but no cash refunds are issued.
Copyright in all artwork — including sketches, studies, and final pieces — remains with the artist, Michaella Bosumbafo Mayfield, unless expressly transferred in a signed written agreement.
Purchase of a print, original, or commission grants the buyer personal, non-commercial display rights only. Buyers may not reproduce, redistribute, resell as prints, use in advertising, train AI models on, or otherwise commercially exploit the artwork without a separate written license.
Mika reserves the right to display any completed work in her portfolio, on social media, and in marketing materials unless the client requests confidentiality in writing before work begins.
Pet memorial commissions are approached with care, but each piece is Mika's artistic interpretation. Exact photographic likeness, specific emotional response, or comfort during grief are personal and are not guaranteed. Please review Mika's existing memorial work to make sure her style resonates with you before committing to a deposit.
Information you share in the inquiry form is used only to respond to your inquiry and, if applicable, to complete a commission or sale. The studio does not sell or share personal information with third parties. Reference photos submitted with a commission are used only for that commission.
Payment information is handled by Stripe under Stripe's own privacy and security terms; the studio does not store card or bank information.
